The European Board Human Restart marked a strong and influential presence at the Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (EM-HERI 2026). The prestigious event was hosted in the Tunisian capital on June 23 and 24, 2026, at the headquarters of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).
About EM-HERI 2026: A Euro-Mediterranean Vision for the Future
The Euro-Mediterranean Conference is a high-level strategic platform spearheaded by ALECSO in partnership with the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed). This year’s edition was launched under the central theme:
“Sustainability, Open Science, and Green Jobs”
The event aimed to reshape the higher education and scientific research landscape across both shores of the Mediterranean. It focused on outlining frameworks for international cooperation to support scientific mobility, develop strategic academic partnerships, and build innovative educational ecosystems that respond effectively to the demands of the green economy and sustainable development.
Strategic Vision and Active Participation by Human Restart
Human Restart highlighted its pivotal role during the main scientific sessions through the participation of Mrs. Siza Tsapi, Member of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Matthias Wolf, Member of the Board of Directors. Together, they represented the European Board’s vision in this prominent gathering, which brought together higher education leaders, university presidents, and key decision-makers from various Arab and European countries.
During the conference, Human Restart emphasized the vital need to expand institutional partnerships and international cooperation. In her address during the scientific sessions, Mrs. Siza Tsapi stated:
“Human Restart places the empowerment of researchers and the exchange of knowledge between Europe and the Arab region at the forefront of its priorities. We firmly believe that the advancement of higher education is closely tied to our ability to build joint academic initiatives that transcend geographical boundaries.”
